The Inclusive Arts Community Pottery Studio
Open Studio Memberships
17+ years of age
We are very excited to announce the launch of our new Open Studio Memberships here at Inclusive Arts. Your membership will give you free access to our worktables, equipment and tools (including our pottery wheels if you hold a "Full Membership"). Completion of either our Handbuilding or Pottery Wheel Introductory Series is mandatory to qualify for studio membership. Through these introductory courses you will learn studio operations, rules and safe use of our equipment, glazing, proper cleanup and the basic skills to get you started on your clay journey. With your membership you will be assigned a storage shelf for your exclusive use to store your tools, clay and works in progress. This membership is designed for someone who needs access to a workspace and use of a kiln, it is not a firing service. All clay must be purchased through our studio and all glazes must be studio approved glazes. Work must be completed in-studio (you may not do your work at home and bring it in to be fired). As we are a "community" studio and our firings will include work of many artists and students, strict control of what is going into our kiln requires these rules. No exceptions will be made.
Memberships are non-transferrable, non-refundable and may only be used by the registered member. It is up to you to use your membership and take advantage of open studio hours. Whether you use the studio every day or whether you use it not at all is up to you. No friends or family, including children, may accompany you without their own membership.
We are offering 2 types of memberships:
1. Full Access Membership: A full access membership allows you to use the pottery wheels, work tables, tools and to have your work fired in our studio kiln. All clay must be purchased through the front desk of our studio (we use Cone 5/6 Plainsman Clays sourced from Alberta), and the price per pound includes free use of our studio glazes, underglazes and kiln firing of completed pieces. When you purchase your membership you will be provided a calendar for the month noting the days and hours open studio access is available. Any projects or clay abandoned at time of membership expiration will be discarded. Memberships start the 1st of each month and expire the last day of the month (unless a multi-month membership is purchased). Memberships must be purchased in person at the studio.
*Please note, open studio is for independent projects, no instruction is included, so please do not ask staff to teach you. If you are interested in building on your skills and learning new things, please see our calendar for learning opportunities.
Full Access Membership: $150 month
Full Access Membership 3 Months: $425
2. Handbuilder Studio Membership: This membership allows you to use the pottery work tables, tools, forms, glazes and kiln firing of your completed pieces. The price of clay per pound includes free use of our studio glazes and underglazes, as well as kiln firing of your finished pieces.
